Assessing US Government Sites for Accessibility

This study looks at 50 U.S. Government Web pages to determine whether or not they meet accessibility requirements as outlined in Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act. US Government agencies are required to be in compliance. If nothing else, take a look at the chart displaying the Web site along with notes on Bobby and Cynthia Says approvals. The stats are enough to convince every company to ensure a site is accessible. They indicate 1 in 10 Americans has a severe disability. 50% of Americans 65 and older has a disability. 10% not enough? Not targeting the senior crowd? How about this one? 1 in 5 Americans between the ages 15 and 65 has a disability.
