The New York Times is reporting tongiht that federal, state and local law enforcement officials are performing a concerted crackdown on spammers. Operation Slam Spam is supposed to enforce the, until now little enforce, CAN-SPAM act of 2004. The intent of the action, is to see several well known violaters get nailed, thus providing a ripple effect diminishing future spammings.
