Project Sunbird

With all of the racket going on about Firefox, people may not be aware that Mozilla has other projects that are worth checking into out as well. Take the Mozilla Calendar component “Sunbird” for instance. While it may be a ways off from becoming the next premier Personal Information Manager, it does have a lot to offer those willing to try it.

In addition, by focusing solely on standalone calendar, we believe we can make some dents in the overall footprint and performance of the calendar application by removing components and chrome we don’t need.

At the moment Sunbird is in an experimental stage. Although it is quite stable, we recommend it for testing purposes only.”
