Why Favicons Are Good For You

If you’re not too deep into the Web design jargon, you might be asking yourself at one time or another, “What is a favicon?” A favicon is a small 16 pixel by 16 pixel graphic that is displayed beside your URL in a Web browser when somebody visits your Web site. Think of it as an extension of your brand. Something else that helps separate yourself from everybody else online. A little pixilated badge of honor.

How does one get a favicon? It really is not a secret, I promise. In fact, I recently wrote an article on favicons. Hopefully it will help dispel some of the truth and rumors surrounding this funny little word.
