Hypertext 2004 is much more than just a piece of the whole Web design puzzle. That’s right, it also happens to a conference in Santa Cruz, California. One of the speakers at the conference talks about standards-oriented design and why it is so important. I would also add that it is critical to use decent markup yourself, otherwise people looking at your site’s code will end up learning from your poor example. Remember that when you are just slapping code together with no respect to standards or decent design, it will come back to haunt you. ;o)
