While tables have all but been replaced by CSS, Don’t count them out completely. With a little Javascript and skill, you can create a very pleasant looking design. Still, tables are quite labor intensive even if you can still use them with the aid of other things like Javascript. In the long run, CSS might just make more sense overall.
