This is my second installment of “Technology, Make or break society”.  This one is going to be about electronics in the car. The other day I was heading to a local shop, when this guy signaled the wrong way and went into another lane, and cut me off.  I immediately thought this man has to be drunk, or impaired some how.  He was neither, in-fact he was looking at his GPS that he had sitting on the dash directly in-front of him.  This leads me to the topic, are all these fancy electronics really necessary in todays automobiles?GPS has its pluses, it helps people navigate around places they have never been before, and gives them a piece of mind that a computer is better than a map.  People also use other things in the car, like cellphones, ipods, and stereo systems with the cumbersome touch screen. I for one have taken my ipod out of my car.  It posed way to many distractions.  For one its hard to find a song while driving down the highway, and it is a pain when you drop it under the seat while driving.  I experienced this many times, and found myself hitting the shoulder of the road.  This is why I no longer take my ipod in the car with me.  I rarely use my cellphone while driving either.  It is very hard to turn and or pay attention to your surroundings while you are talking to some one on the phone.  I will not answer my phone unless its my parents calling.I for one am not a fan of all these fancy electronics in the car.
