Made famous by the cult-classic movie, Office Space, now you can your very own Swingline Collectors Edition 747 Rio Red Business Stapler for under $20.00.
Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Ahh, make sure you keep it away from your boss as he’ll steal it and make you come in on Sunday, too.
And I said, I don’t care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I’m, I’m quitting, I’m going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they’ve moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn’t bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it’s not okay because if they take my stapler then I’ll set the building on fire…

Can you believe that movie is 10 years old?

I work for a major office supply company. Once in a while vendors will send representatives to us for some product education. A few years ago, when Swingline first brought out the red stapler, they were here for a product demo. They had one of the red staplers with them, the only thing people wanted to talk about, of course. We were told that they finally began producing it due to so much customer demand - inspired by the movie. The stapler in the movie was painted by the studio’s prop people.
The 747, in any color, is really a great stapler. I’ve had one on my desk for 10 years with no problems at all. Also, something the Swingline guy showed us, you can open beer bottles with it.

How can you open beer bottles exactly? This will come in handy in my job here at my company helpdesk. I hope this technique is quiet.

You need to open the device, as if you were going to add new staples. The silver part has cut-outs near the front, and it should be fairly obvious how it would work once you look at it. This is only on the 747 models, as far as I know.
