Sam Glover on Caveat Emptor is reporting that nearly everyone that had a credit card, loan or credit account, or an open line of credit at any point from January 1, 1987 to May 28, 2008 you maybe entitled to a settlement from a class action law suit against TransUnion Corporation.
The settlement offer has several options to choose from; Mr. Glover reports:
There are five options:
- Six months of credit monitoring;
- Potential cash payment (if available)
- Six months of credit monitoring and a potential cash payment (if available)
- Nine months of enhanced credit monitoring
- Sue TransUnion yourself
Option three is just option one plus option two. I can’t imagine why someone would go for one or two, since option three gets you six months of unlimited access to your credit score, with credit monitoring plus a potential cash payout.
To opt into the settlement head over to the In re Trans Union Corporation Privacy Litigation website
