Getting the Complete Deadwood Series DVDs? Don’t!

I just noticed that the compete series of Deadwood is now available as a Complete Seasons 1-3 DVD Set for nearly $180 but you can still get the individual DVD Sets for Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3 for under $40 each!
Worse, according to multiple reviews there is supposedly no added content or value in the Complete Seasons 1-3 DVD Set. So if you were planning to get the DVDs, do yourself a favor and order the individual seasons.
If you haven’t watched Deadwood you missed a fantastic show that came to an end far too early. Everything about the show was amazing, down to every detail of the scripting, acting, costumes, and sets. It’s supposedly the attention to that detail that burned out Producer David Milch on the series.
I still hold out hope for a Deadwood Movie though it doesn’t appear that will ever happen.

Isn’t HBO supposed to wrap up the Deadwood story with two 2-hour eps ?

Gary, it was widely reported that the plans for that were canceled. Our only hope is for a movie which is a long shot at this point.

i heard that the set will include a new walk and talk documentary with Milch about where the show and characters were headed. so that’s something.
