Southwing SA505 Bluetooth Headset Sucks
My wife was talked into buying a pair of Southwing SA505 Bluetooth stereo headphones by a slick salesman and I’ve got to declare them the worst product we’ve ever owned.
The sound quality is abysmal. Even if you hold your bluetooth enabled phone up to them. Move it two feet away and it’s worse than an FM station that’s hundreds of miles away. The static is just awful.
My wife wants to exchange them for another as she thinks they’re defective but I’m insisting they go back for good after reading all the negative reviews about them.
Don’t bother with them. They’re junk.

I have been through four pairs of Southwing Bluetooth SA505 head phones. They work great for about two months if that long. The sound is great coming from my phone. I use them when I am working out and don’t have to be bothered with getting a cord tangled in my weights. But they only last for about two months. They will just go out. The LED light will either come on and never go off or it will not come on at all, even after a full charge. When it does come on, it will not pair with my phone anymore. If I take this one back to AT & T (Cingular) this will be the fifth pair. With these not being the cheapest thing I have purchased, do you have anything that will work longer than a month or two?

The sound quality is great, but the sliding mic boom is an obvious point of failure- it died after two weeks.

I can’t thank you enough Steve and all others who provided their comments on the Southwing stereo headset … i was confused at first as to which pair i should purchase, opted for the Motorola S9 after doing a Google search and coming up with your site … awesome, thanks again!

I agree that the music sound quality is very poor. Audiofiles and musicians will find listening to music annoying, and why else but them?

They sell for less than $15 on ebay now. Even if they suck, it’ll be fun to have and hardly costs a thing compared to the normal price of $100+.
I’m getting one just because it’s so cheap.

Yea I have had them for a week and am about to take them back. I can talk all day on the headset but I can’t listen to my music through, that’s the main reason I got the I already have a Bluetooth to talk through.

I’ve been using one for about two weeks. Sound quality is good, so far I have no problem with it. Maybe they have a whole batch of defective units…but we’ll see how long my unit will last.

These are one of the best things i ever purchased! i am sooo happy with them, they work like a dream, the sound quality is GREAT i was really REALLY surprised, they dont have ANY static AT ALL, the only thing is that when i had my phone downstairs and i went outside the music got choppy, but thats normal, i was a pretty good distance from my phone, at least 30 feet away, and no static, just choppy, but i must say i love this headset, i use it all the time, i use them for my 2 computers, one is a macbook pro, and the other has vista on it, and i use it on my 2 phones! soo easy to add, i can up to 5 devises, works like a dream on all of them, not only that i can play, stop fast foward, change the volume all on the headphones! it is amazing, i dont know what alot of u are talking about, either ur headset is defective or your not using it rite, and the guy having trouble connecting it to your computer make sure (1) ur computer has bluetooth (2) that is on and (3) that the headset is in the proper mode to connect with devices, simply press and hold the play button for about 5 seconds untill the headset starts makin a funy noise and flashes bule and red, that is the only time u can add a new conncetion with a device. GREAT HEADHONES why pay $100 for the same thing? come on there only $20 new! and they work and sound amazing. just make sure u know how to hook em up. because the owners manual is a bit…..lacking, when i had a question about them, like how to connect them to another device just google it, or on the producs web page there is a FAQ section, that should be able to help u out,
good buy good buy

I’d give these headphones a “B”, mainly because of the great price. For me, the audio quality, controls, and reliability have been fine, and the battery life seems very good. What I don’t like is mainly the “style”. You kinda look like you’re wearing mini mickey-mouse ears. By the way, when it comes to wireless headphones in general, this is my first pair, and I’m definilty hooked.
