70% of Zune Owners Will Switch To iPod, iPhone

Only 30% of people that bought the Zune like it, reports MacWorld.
Microsoft recently confirmed it has sold just over a million Zunes - but recent research says most Zune owners rue the day they ever dipped into their pocket to pick one up, with 70 per cent of Zune owners planning to ditch the device in favour of an iPod or iPhone just as soon as they can.
An astonishing 36 per cent of people who purchased a Zune now say they would never have purchased one if they had realised Apple would produce something as innovative as the iPhone.
Only 36%? That seems pretty low. You’d have to be Microsoft Fan Boy to still want a Zune after seeing an iPhone. Besides, who is buying them in the first place? Grandparents that were duped into it by a scummy salesman? The return rates for Zunes have been so high several chains stopped stocking them.

ok so if your comparing wether sombody would rather have an iphone over a zune? of course if som1 had them both infront of u saying you could have 1 for free but in the real world these things cost money, especially the zune and if i missed ur point and ur trying to say apple has better producs like the ipod i really dont see anything better the ipod has over the zune accept its 1/3 inch skinnier but not much a difference in ur pocket unless u have skinny girl jeans in wich case nether would really fit in ur pocket…..

It’s a derrogatory comparison.
a) comparing a zune to an iphone, zune is an mp3 player and iphone is well a phone. If you want to compare the the zune to something compare it to the ipod video both intended for the same purpose, then youll find that yes the ipod does outsell the zune but the zune has better playback quality, its all a matter of opinion.
whereas if you want to compare the iphone to something, make it a Windows Mobile 6 phone or a sony ericson walkman etc. Then you will again find the iphone is not the best, I own both a zune and a HTC wizard (soon to be TytnII) Windows mobile 6 phone (rom updated). my phone has everything the iphone has and more and is much more moddable i have a physical qwerty (slide-out) keyboard rather than that on screen crap.
b) your reading this off “macworld.” now take a step back and think, no matter what the opinions will always be bias, myself and plenty of others are happy with our zunes, i do admit the iPod is a nice mp3 player i just made the choice to go for the zune rather than the ipod.
just one other thing about the iPod touch, i (personally) like to reach in my pocket to play, pause, skip songs and change volume rather than get the player out and look at the screen, with a touch screen this is not really possible, (unless apple come up with a new intuitive touchscreen that makes bevels where buttons are)
also the touch is almost identical to the iphone just with a virtually restricted OS, apple could have left extra features in there for no extra cost to them.
