Doc Files Continue To Be Potentially Unsafe

An increasing number of Spy-Agent malware variants have been discovered over the past few weeks that use an embedded file within what may appear to be a normal Doc file sent from a trusted friend or associate.

Some variants even appear to be from the IRS, DOJ, FTC, and other government agencies and non-government agencies such as the BBB.

Just because it’s a Doc file doesn’t mean you can let your guard down. You must scan the file with an upgraded antivirus and you should never double click on a file that is within a doc file as that is not a normal method for sending anything legitimate.
