If you’re unable to find a free/open Wi-Fi network, you might have to try looking for a store, franchise, or chain that offers Wi-Fi. Some even offer the Internet access for free.

1. Panera Bread - Over 900 locations and they all offer free Wi-Fi!
2. Office Depot - 1,200 locations and free Wi-Fi at most.
3. Apple Store - Free Wi-Fi at all of its 170+ locations.
4. Cosi - Over 100 locations with free Wi-Fi.
5. Bruegger’s Bagels - Free at almost all of its locations.
6. Krystal Restaurants - Free Wi-Fi in over 250 locations
7. Caribou Coffee - Free for the first hour, $1.50 minimum purchase after.
8. McDonald’s - Over 15,000 Wi-Fi Enabled locations worldwide and it’s only $2.95 for two hours. Many locations offer it free with a meal purchase.
9. Barnes & Nobel - Wi-Fi is by AT&T and runs about $20 per month which is more reasonable than T-Mobile hotspots.
10. Border’s Books - T-Mobile hotspot, so its standard pricing applies.
11. Starbucks - Probably the best place to work, but its Wi-Fi is provided by T-Mobile and runs about $6 an hour, $10 for 24 hours, or $30 per month.

If you’re going to use one of the free ones you should buy something to thank them for the service.
