Don’t Trust That Email Even If They Know You

Don’t trust an email just because the sender knows your name, address or other personal information.

A new type of phishing scam making the rounds uses the target’s real name, mailing address, and other personal information in order to trick the user into believing it was sent by a financial institution or business they do business with in order to obtain additional personal information. The personal information that is obtained is used to commit identity theft.
