Could A .Bank Top Level Domain Stop Phishing?

If all banks were required to use a top level domain that was .bank, instead of .com, could that stop phishing emails?
Phishing emails are emails that are sent to unsuspecting users that appear to be from their bank or another financial institution and attempt to get the user to visit a web site and enter their personal and banking information. The information collected is used to commit identify theft and fraud.
Most of the phishing emails link to domains that are not even close to the financial institution’s real domain and users that fall for these don’t seem to notice. Would using a .bank extension have any positive affect?
