HTML Entity Lookup For Web Design

I can never remember the codes for HTML Entities and I’m sure I’m not alone.

HTML entities have to be used to create valid designs. Typically the worst offenders are the & or ampersand in URLs and the cents ¢ symbol. You might also need the entity for the copyright © symbol or registered ® symbol.

Finding the correct entities can be a bit of a pain as if you search for them in a search engine you get a lot of junk sites and not really what you’re looking for. However, LeftLogic has put up an AJAX powered HTML entity lookup and also a Mac Dashboard Widget that does the same.

The lookup on the web site requires you to enter a space after your search term. Don’t hit enter. The Dashboard widget works more traditionally and is the way to go if you’re on the Mac OS.
