Beware of files embedded inside .RTF files. The embeded files will appear to be a .DOC, .PDF, .TXT or some other type of typically harmless file but it’s actually an executable file that contains malware. If opened yoursystem with be infected
Virus authors are using this old method of infection as MANY anti-virus programs are unable to detect the malware hidden inside rich text files and can infect systems using this method even when an updated anti-virus program is active.
All the anti virus programs that failed to detect this have been notified and should soon be rolling out updates and new defintions.
