If you take Avandia (rosiglitazone) and have heart disease or are at high risk for a heart attack you should talk to your doctor immediately.
Safety data from controlled clinical trials have shown that there is a potentially significant increase of risk for heart attack and heart-related deaths in patients who take Avandia.
The FDA isn’t recommending that patients who have been prescribed and are taking Avandia to stop, but are suggesting they immediately contact their doctors to discuss their treatment.
