Mozilla and eBay are working together to create a a special version of Firefox (if you already have Firefox, an Addon) that makes the eBay expereince safer and faster.

The Firefox Companion for eBay allows you to stay securely signed into eBay so you can quickly check your auction statuses and also get alerts on auctions that are ending soon. You’ll never miss a bid and can be alerted when an auction you’re bidding on is about to end.

The addon also ensures you’re browsing only genuine eBay pages and have not been redirected to a phishing site that might be attempting to collect your personal information or install adware.

The Companion is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux and is a full copy of the Firefox web browser with the Ebay Companion Addon preinstalled.
