Beware of Trojans Masquerading as Movie Codecs or Players

McAfee is warning of a Trojan that installs a rootkit and changes the DNS server to one controlled by the attackers. The Trojan is reportedly disguised as a program that claims to access and play different video files such as Movies downloaded from the Internet.

The program is called MovieCommander and is distributed on many download web sites and file sharing services. Some movies traded lately even include the file as part of the package in the attempt to trick movie traders into installing it.
