Have you been jealous of Windows XP users since they can install XP on a flash drive and boot off of it? Its not only possible to do it with the Mac OS, its not even that difficult!
Brad Bergeron, figured out the process and provides step by step instructions in his article, HOWTO: Install and Boot OS X On a Flash Drive
.
You’ll need a 1GB Flash Drive and a retail copy of the Mac OS X if you’re going to try to do this with an Intel processor system.
You may be wondering why someone would want to do this? Well, if you have a Mac at work that you can’t install other applications on, you could boot off the flash drive and it will have these applications ready for you to use along with your files.
If you try it out, please let me know how it goes. I’d like to hear your experiences in using the OS from a flash drive.
