E-Mail:

Hey Apple, how about sending me a nice, new, shiny MacBook?

The blogosphere is buzzing because Microsoft is Handing Out Hot Slick Ferrari Laptop Bling to Bloggers. It sure is a good way to get people to talk about Vista. But it remains to be seen if it will all be positive talk.

In my opinion, Microsoft may keep their Viruses, Intrusions, Spyware, Trojans, and Adware! I wouldn’t use Vista even if they did give me a brand new top of the line notebook with it preinstalled. The first thing I’d do is post pics on my blog of me installing Ubuntu over it!

But if Apple is listening, I’d be very very happy to accept a MacBook or MacBook Pro and you wouldn’t catch me using anything but OS X! :wink wink nudge nudge:

Update: According to several reports Microsoft is now telling the bloggers that they sent a laptop to, they must either give it back or give it away to one of their readers. Don’t you just love Microsoft’s impudency. First they give you a gift saying you may keep it, then less than 24 hours later, they later say hey we changed our mind. This is supposed to get them positive publicity? How exactly? Their PR is just as inept as their security practices.

Actually, according to sources and Microsoft, the chosen bloggers were to test out Vista and give some feedback, and then give it away…not just to any user, but to a charity of some sort. No offense, I use XP and please don’t make knee jerk anti-MS statements so fast. I used a Mactel (iMac) once a little, and it’s not that bad at all…since they made the switch to Intel. Windows isn’t the best. I’m sure OS X and the hordes of Linux OS s aren’t bad either. Several bloggers were chosen, primarily the ones with the most output, publicity, users, and those that reach a lot of people. They wanted the bloggers to get people bidding for the laptops on eBay or at an event, and then “put the money to good use”, meaning 100% of the proceeds goes to a CHARITABLE SERVICE/ORGANIZATION. But, again, I understand that it was confusing and Microsoft could have told them ahead of time.
