Don’t know which is worse: buying a Dell machine or trying to make heads or tails out of Moblin! While I do enjoy Linux — Ubuntu specifically, and love using this distro on notebooks — the idea of trying to use Moblin or other similar options with an Ubuntu backing simply does not appeal to me.
Netbook editions of Linux make me want to run for something different. Anything. Whether it be the oversimplified feel or the fact that nothing ever seems to work right, I prefer a standard desktop anytime over that of those specialized netbook releases.
Maybe it is me that has the problem. After all, Moblin and the lot have been met with fair reviews despite my own feelings on the matter. Regardless, one thing is for sure. Netbooks lack enough power to interest me especially running the kind of distro release I am wanting with any real success.
