A coworker was having some trouble with his Dell computer. He took it to Best Buy. They took one look at it and proclaimed he needed a new motherboard.
He was not convinced and had it looked at elsewhere. Turns out the motherboard was perfectly ok.
It would seem that since Best Buy carries Dell, they won’t hesitate to make themselves a few bucks on parts and labor. This is a nasty form of thuggery, perpetuated on people who don’t know the difference.
Best Buy should be ashamed. They need to stick to what they’re good at: stealing p*rn.
P.S. Even if the computer isn’t under warranty, you can call Dell service and they will help you troubleshoot the problem. You can also get a ton of information on their website, including specifics of your pc, using your service tag number. Fortunately their service website is much better than their sales website (designed by Salvatore Dali, operated by Timothy Leary).
