The AMD media cooler, based on bubble-pump technology uses a refrigerant in a closed system. This effectively and efficiently moves the heat around the loop. The end result is a low fan speed to dissipate the heat, which means low noise, a requirement for the home theater. This method also cools the sub components on the board and in the case. And that means smaller cases with a more compact design.
In the past, computers used as entertainment centers or for home theaters were noisy, both from the case and the audio. AMD hopes to quiet down the hardware for a more enjoyable experience. More to come I’m sure.
