Class Scheduling Kills Server

Well I have been up all night and at 6:30 I was supposed to be able to register for my classes for next semester. Alas something like 1000 students trying to do the same thing has killed the server. Timeout Errors are not my friend, not at all. This really has no real value outside of my school, but I figured I’m up I can’t get in so I decided to vent my anger. Time to go hit refresh some more. Oh and you use to be able to do this at midnight, but they changed it because the servers crashed and they felt this would allow the IT guys to be here, and add more bandwidth, So much for that.

Update: So after this I decided to head over to the Dean’s Office and do it in person. Well my college dean’s office was closed so a few people and I decided to head over to the business college to see if they could help us, no luck only business students. So we went back to the liberal Arts college Dean and sat outside the doors till they opened. I still managed to get all my classes (amazed at that), and found out that the server crashed yesterday too. Hmmm….server crashes one day, what made IT thing it wouldn’t happen again? And this isn’t a big university, it is actually the smallest D I-A college in the country.
