Roger Pollock – Portland Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

I met Roger Pollock a few years back over breakfast and was impressed by his humble and open approach to his personal and professional life. He’s been a client of mine since then, which has given me ample opportunity to personally witness Roger Pollock’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur and philanthropist. I’ve also had the opportunity to connect via our common membership in the Portland chapter of Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO). You can experience his stories and thoughts first-hand on the Roger Pollock Blog and learn more about his charitable organization, Buena Vista Profit Partners. He’s had his challenges in life like anyone else, but I don’t know many people that have made such a deep commitment to the local community without the desire to talk about it for public gain (hence this post). His company, Buena Vista Custom Homes, was recently named in Portland Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Awards for their charitable contributions of cash, in-kind services and employee volunteer hours. He’s also contributed company time and resources to build houses for Habitat for Humanity and as a father to an autistic son, supported organizations like Son-Rise Program. Not to say Roger Pollock hasn’t been recognized for his success, however, it just hasn’t gone to his head like you might expect.
