Charlie Gasparino from CNBC is reporting a major data breach at Merrill Lynch:
“According to sources, the device contained sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, about some 33,000 employees of the financial firm.”

This would be a data base ‘goldmine’ for identity theft. Not only are the Social Security numbers compromised, but the people on that data base are employees of a brokerage firm. Therefore, most likely, their financial history is good. That is an ideal situation for identity theft.
