Another product is added to the pet food recall list:
“A brand of Nutra Nuggets dog food, produced by a Northern California company, has been recalled after tests found trace amounts of the plastic material, “melamine” in the food.”

Even months after this pet food recall started, additional products are being identified as unsafe. It seems that the only recourse is to check the home page of your pet food manufacturer regularly and see if the product that you are feeding your pet remains safe.
