Whatever you were planning on doing, now is a good time to push it back. Put it on hold. Because whatever you were going to do, it was bound to interfere with important play time. We wouldn’t want that.
Cruising around a toy room in a LEGO car is what you’ll be doing in Toy Room. This is an easy-to-play 3D cruise through a polygon playroom. A recreational ramble through a rumpus room. There are toys to dodge, bump, and jump besprinkled haphazardly around the game area.
The object of the Toy Room is to collect all of the blue floating spiny urchin things before the timer runs down. You’ll find the pointy prizes scattered throughout the game usually at the end of a ramp.
Driving a LEGO car that sounds like a 1939 Model H John Deere tractor is certainly entertaining. And we enjoyed ramming the balls and toys that were strewn around the playroom. However, the unpolished quality of Toy Room didn’t impress us. Lurching freezes, a stumbling camera, and halting snags in the game’s geometry didn’t work together to create a game that plays like a broken toy.
