Electronic Arts announced today that the newest iteration of NBA STREET, the critically acclaimed and culturally defining streetball videogame franchise, is scheduled for release in spring 2007 under the EA SPORTS BIG brand. The game is in development in Vancouver, B.C. by EA Canada, the studio that also is home to the industry-leading NBA LIVE and NCAA March Madness basketball videogame franchises.
“Since its unveiling in 2001, NBA STREET has always raised the bar with innovative gameplay and fresh visuals,” said Wil Mozell, executive producer on the project. “The power of the Next Generation hardware gives us the horsepower to break new ground for consumers, making it the perfect stage for the next iteration of NBA STREET. Casual gamers and sports fans can still expect ‘easy to pick-up and difficult to master’ gameplay, with progressive visuals and some of the biggest gameplay moments in action sports.”
The fourth chapter in the multi-platinum selling NBA STREET series expands on the fast-paced and larger-than-life 3-on-3 basketball gameplay that has made the franchise a hit. The newest iteration of NBA STREET creates a hyper-real world that merges legendary courts with the hometown courts of your favorite NBA stars into one seamless city of streetball moments. Earn a name for yourself and garner respect as you progress along your hometown journey and become a legend.
The new version of NBA STREET will be available for the PlayStation3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
