To meet the growing demand for recording multiple shows at the same time, LSI has designed its DoMiNo 8653 chip which will support dual-channel encoding. This chip will help people who want to record their favorite shows to DVD, yet haven’t been able to because two of them come on at the same time (a common occurance for some, I would wager).
The chip also supports MPEG-1, -2, and -4 as well as DivX encoding (and playback) which should satisfy just about anyone. The chip will be able to store up to 12 hours of video to be stored on one DVD.
