hp 7760: cheap photo printer or great value?

Holiday shopping for the parents used to be a challenge. Now that they are actually adopting digital technology, it’s become a little easier. With more choices than ever for techie toys, however, it’s actually become a joy for me.

Consider this season: my parents purchased their first digital camera last month. It’s not too surprising: Yahoo just ran a story that digital camera sales will hit $24 billion this year (yes, that’s “billion with a ‘b’”!). That’s all well and good, but for the newbies that just got a camera, one has to wonder: how will they print their pictures?

There’s a plethora of choices, such as stand alone photo printers that use a higher quality dye-sublimation technique. Or do you go with a dual purpose printer that can also print hiqh quality photos? Tough choice, but I opted for the hp photosmart 7760 at a wallet saving $119. Not just for my parents, mind you, but for myself as well! If you’re considering a photo printer as a last minute holiday purchase, look to kct’s digital world for basic thoughts on why I made this purchase (twice!).
