On 22 Sep, Sony Ericsson announced
the new V800 for Vodafone's 3G consumer services. This was over a year
the announcement of Z1010, SE's first 3G mobile phone. Although V800 is
customised for Vodafone consumers, it is definitely a preview to a worldwide
release of this model in time to come.
V800 has a few major enhancements
over Z1010, namely the 1.3 megapixel camera that rotates (similar to Samsung),
a secondary colour screen (another Samsung copy?) and support for Memory Stick
PRO Duo for up to 1GB of external storage capacity. Other new features include
camera light and microUSB.
V800 certainly does not have the best looks,
but it is definitely unique with well-thought design lines. Let's hope
consumers outside Vodafone do not have to wait too long to own this.
