From the perspective of a digital photographer – does it matter whether you get your photos printed at Walmart, on-line at Ofoto, or down the street at Ned’s Pro Photo Shop? Are there major differences in quality? Since we’re talking digital here, there’s no comparison of developing the photos – where experience, clean equipment, and care can make a difference – we’re just talking about printing the photos. Will Ned really do a better job?
Sigh
The basic question is, if Ned uses Kodak printing equipment, and the Whatever Supercenter uses Kodak equipment – will there ever be a difference? What matters? Where you print your photos? What they’re printed on? Both? I’ve looked and can’t seem to find a definite answer. But I’ll keep looking – I have a few ideas about this, but nothing concrete yet.
If you know the answer, or know where to find it – let me know. Until then, here’s a comparison of online photo printing services.
