According to PC World via Yahoo! News, Wi-Fi security is still quite spotty. While the technology continues to improve, a lot of people are still stuck with WEP encryption instead of the preferred WPA standard. Even worse, folks that have older 802.11g products are under the false impression that they automatically have access to WPA since the products use 802.11g rather than 802.11b. In addition to all of this, there have been some instances of Wi-Fi products advertised to be WPA compliant that could not even make a WPA connection out of the box.
