Intel Quad Core chips for laptops

Intel plans on releasing a new Quad Core chip for laptops by the end of the year. There has been talk that a laptop with this chip and a proper configuration of specifications, may be an alternative to a bulky desktop computer. There is a chance that they wont reach your average Joe laptop for awhile due to the power need and battery consumption. Instead, they will most likely be available on gaming and higher end laptops. I personally think this could change the way computers are sold. Once these chips hit lower end laptops and are affordable, desktops may be out the window for a lot of people. Being able to take the power of a desktop with you is becoming easier and easier day by day. In a few years desktops may be a thing of the past. Anybody else thinking the same way? Ha those laptops are probably going to be running pretty hot, plus bad battery life with all that power.
Still its pretty damn awesome.
