Want a way to avoid getting in toruble when arguing with someone

Let them be the only one to complain. Eventually, they get so pissed off that you are not giving them something to continue the tirate about, they give up and leave you alone.

Just a few minutes ago, my mother attempted to fan an argument from earlier today. As soon as she approached me, I knew what was comming. So, I just let her go. I said nothing, and in the process failed to land in anymore trouble from the arguing. It also help my blood pressure. I didn’t get worked up over what she said, I didn’t allow myself to get so enraged that I had to defend myself. I just let her finally give up. My mother is the type, she wants someone to yell at so that she can vent her own frustrations about everything at someone else. If you fail to give them reasons to continue the onslaught, they eventually tire of trying. If you find yourself getting worked up at a spouse, sibling, parent, child, or anyone… just let them vent. Even if you feel they are wrong, and they are starting to say stuff that you and they know are attempts to get you enraged, let it go.

How To Be A Good Commenter

Recently, I have been having one person leave rude and insulting comments. So I am taking it upon myself to help educate that user on tips to help make good comments. This blog was originally posted by Chris Pirillo on January 11th, 2008.

Blogging is just huge. It seems like everyone AND their mom has a blog these days. Commenting on blog posts is a great way to interact with the author. Here are some tips to help you be able to be a better commenter.

  • Actually read the post. To be able to write a decent comment, you’re going to need to know what the blog is about. Just reading the title of the blog and then commenting is not the right way to do it because you may end up posting something that has already been covered in the blog article itself. This may mean your post may end up getting moderated for not adding constructively to the blog.
  • Post relevant information. If you’re going to be doing a post to one of the blogs, then please make sure that whatever you post is relevant to the blog post itself. Do not go onto any blog post and post for example “hello to all the moderators, you all rock.” While this is funny to you, it’s more than likely going to be rejected because it adds nothing at all to the current blog. So make sure that when you make a blog post that whatever you end up saying is relevant to that post.
  • Word Count. Posting something such as “hi” or “you rock” as your comment is more than likely once again to be deleted. If you’re going to leave a blog comment, then please make sure whatever you post is more than just a few words of text.
  • Spell Check. Most people know this already, but making sure you use correct English will allow for people to be able to understand what you are saying. L33tSpeak doesn’t classify as proper English, so please don’t post it. Use proper English, and your blog comment has a better chance of being accepted. If you’re worried about spelling, Google is your friend.
  • Be Respectful. When posting a reply to one of the blogs, please make sure that you are respectful to the people who have replied to the blog before posting. Give people the benefit of the doubt if they post something that you personally don’t agree with or know what they said maybe/is wrong. Don’t spam people with insults.

Pelican Xbox 360 Pro Cooler might not be compatible with your Xbox 360

As I was in Gamestop yesterday, I saw where someone was returning one of the Pelican Xbox 360 Pro Coolers he had purchased. He told the store manager, it would not connect right. Travis, the store manager was a little confused, and started to ask a question to them about it. The customer then lifted up his carrying bag and had the 360 there. Travis and another employee looked at the part, attempted to fit the part on and saw that the device was not configured for his system, as some of the ports on it were offset. Travis allowed them to exchange it for the Nyko Intercooler.

Folks, if you have an accessory for a device, and it doesn’t fit, take the accessory back, and put the device itself in a carrying case and let the employees look at it. If they see that the device will not and cannot fit your device, they may allow you to exchange it. Of course, make sure the place you bought it from will take opened packages back, as well as ask the employee “What if I open this, and it doesn’t fit my system?”
