You want Multimon Wallpapers? You got ‘em!

Trying to get good wallpapers for a multiple-monitor configuration is difficult. The people who make wallpapers for fun and profit usually have one screen so they never realize alot of us have more than 1680×1050 pixels to fill.

I, however, am an afficionado of widescreen and multi-screen wallpapers (which I’m collecting on my Multi-Monitor Resource Page). I suppose that’s why I’m climbing in the multi-monitor rankings on Google. For example:

multimon wallpaper: #4 of 40,600
Nude widescreen wallpapers: #4 of 435,000. I suppose this got triggered because I mentioned that Alicia Silverstone appeared nude for a PETA commercial and got all preachy about being a vegan hippie. There’s no nudity on this website (and there won’t be - I like being on Google’s good side), but it’s pretty cool that my PageRank is letting me beat porn sites.
Panorama wallpaper: #10 of 2,290,000

Where do I come up with these terms? I track all activity on this site; I have a SQL table dedicated to incoming search queries. Monitoring it has revealed the terms that get searched for the most. Lately, I’ve been getting lots and lots of traffic from Google from people searching for widescreen wallpapers and backgrounds that span more than one monitor.

When I say “lots and lots of traffic”, I mean it. Just yesterday (11/16/2007), I logged 2500 hits, 200 unique IPs, and 27 Google clicks. In the past month, my traffic has tripled; and for some perverse reason, I still enjoy watching the hits come in.

I credit the GoogleJuice.
