To kick this off , let me explain, I am not paid to like or dislike the game, So I have a human’s opinion, I like some stuff I dislike others. If they where paying me it would all be 100% like. If I was paid to dislike , it would be 100% dislike.

I am not a fanboy who has been chewing on his blanket since he first saw the previews drooling on his keyboard waiting the demo. I just heard of the game less than two days before I got the demo. I gave the game an honest try and an honest feel . for those of you who know what color the main guy’s shoe laces are and why they are that color because you read the entire pamplet and news article and website front to back and upside down awaiting a clue to some imaginary riddle, Good for you, The sales pitches worked fine for you. Anything more than a sentence or two in response to this, really is overboard and you may want to ditch the yoda mouse and lunchbox.

2 Gigs 3200 RAM

Loading the demo the first time is a little bit drawn long, images are excellent and look very fun,Game ran fine at full settings on windows xp pro, just the dark setting and colors with some weird blue trim in the parachute scene. While looking in on the “suit tools” or options or what ever you see a circular list of stuff, you have no idea what any of it is, because it is unlabeled and it does nothing to assure you that you are on the right thing except for the cloaking,inviz.PNG or what ever that ten second thing is. there seems to be a strength,armor and cloaking that happens with the suit.

The fights where pretty great but it seemed very “grand theft auto” ish, it seemed like the bad guy just kept spawning up everywhere, and if you wanted one to just go away, turn your back and he will disappear when you turn your back. The narrator or guide or as the game called him something like prophet or what ever, he was a bit of a nag, so speakers went down just long enough for me to get killed by a guy that was not there a second ago. bad guys always know where you are , unless you are cloaked, then they just flip out and run in circles. The instant you re-spawn they know exactly where you are and are shooting at you within in a blink of time.

The water. Not so good. It just did not have that water look that you would expect from this new of a game. I mean there where bubbles and some sounds that let you know you are in water, but it just does not look like water other than your guy is now waving his hands in front of himself as if he is swimming, unsure if that run button helped any, could not tell. bullets hit you when you are under, and you can not pop up secretly , at all if you are being chased .Yes you can run out of breath. and yes he can outlast most of you, but does not live for ever underwater. sorry I did not see a timer nor a meter that let’s you know how much air is left, you just got wait till you hear him grunt or panic or make a painful sound. beach.PNG

You can pick up guns for spare bullets, and to carry or swap more guns . You can pick up numerous objects and chunk them , at people or just for the hell of it. I never found a med pack. No idea. You can enter vehicles , but it seems I haven’t figured how to man the guns on them, and or how to drive the vehicles. Maybe you can , maybe you can’t. I am not so certain that you can. I have no idea why all the bad guys looked the same, why they glow red or many things, not much to tell me why or how, I just assume it’s the pants the main guy is wearing.gunfire.PNG

Overall I give the game demo a rating of 6.5 . I will not be buying this one for myself . I might get it for my son, he will not take interest in it for more than a day, but just in case one of his friends have the game, it might be fun to lan party it. I can’t see it being very fun online. delta force 2 meets doom meets half life2.

1. first thing is go into control panel and into Administrative Tools and then Services and then scroll down to messenger and turn it off.(also telnet if I think I will not be using it)

2. Set up blocking of websites by adjusting my Hosts file
3. go get A-Squared it finds adware and spyware and some virus and trojans.

4. Check router firewall and dmz settings.

5. get ad-aware . it’s pretty much the same as a-squared but finds other stuff .

6.get spybot search and destroy, similar to adaware and a-squared.

7. install firefox and use that instead of explorer

8.install thunderbird and use that instead of outlook

9. save an online virus scanner to favorites

10. practice safe surfing (no clicking links in email… ever, pay attention to site names when using search engine, do not install any addons that come with freeware, never reply to any email that says ” you stuff is in jeopardy”, call business’s for verification to any emergency emails,never give out passwords to anyone on the net or in real life)

What you do is what you have to live with. asking people for advice is a safe bet… Some times..?

I am working on my own form of a social network I right now have a gathering of types of chatrooms

I am trying to set something up. no what you see there on that page is not what I am doing, it is a place holder . I am going for widgets and maybe even a media player and I will use my dig.com account for a ticker

but for now I need the flow of traffic to bookmark the pages within and keep watching . the advertisement funds will be completely helpful and motivational.

If I find enough traffic I might even throw in a donation button, I have to buy a different service that allows me more access and mods to my site. I will be buying it from my current service which seems to be doing me very well with bandwidth and stability. I am hoping people get used to the place and throw suggestions at me. Maybe even write a few lines and send em to me and let try the code they send, as it looks I am probably going to have to buy a template or two for some of the main design. Yeah I know , cookie cutter web design but what the hell I need to put in a fair amount of effort for it’s pay. because i can’t quit my job and be a one man crew on this and not have anything to show for it.

so ideas and suggestion I will take at the site, or right fricken here.

I have now embedded the chris pirillo video feed into my page so you can see what he is up to i also added a link to the irc version of the chatroom, I suggest you use chatzilla because they do not like bots or scripts to enter the chatroom.

The way I embedded the video is in the presentation area I whent to widgets and clicked on the”text” widget and entered the embed code to the video and saved as it was it worked, but the issue now is it will not align left nor will it center. so it is a tad bit shifted to the right. so if you want to do the same, hit me with a question and I will walkyou through what ever issues you have.

Everyone is all upside down about how a GPU can do in four days what a CPU takes a month to do. I realize “is this a pre-notice of what AMD is doing with ATI?”

With the release of that information, does this sound like the big gun warning shot from AMD over the bow of Intel? is AMD actually not holding out on its dual core processor and quad core processor evolutions; does it not care about amazing everyone with its retaliation to Pentium? Is it not going to put a whole bunch of effort into following second behind Intel? Is it just doing enough to keep us around..

I have a feeling that we are about to get news that AMD and the crew of AMD/ATI are about to plop down a beast, a processor that is made with the ability of a GPU but used for a CPU. A processor that makes you say “Why in the blue hell did we ever even think of dual core?” and then two years later release a dual core version of that same processor.

I think AMD and Intel are about to not even be in the same product field, unless Intel decides to follow AMD for the first time.

I have had this account for, well about as long as pownce has been out. I never really was all that impressed. well i thumbed through mine today. While looking around I checked out the features and setting, I found taht all you have to do is type in your name for some regular and not so common social networks and pownce instantly locats your profile setting up a quick link to your other profiles from the other networks.. I am impressed.

Well I see that i still have like 28 more invites left and i guess i can hand em out to people who know me in some of the networks or chatrooms I frequent. But no strangers, I will not be the farmer that let the cown through the gate. I mean I will not be the first person letting spam in, amongst my friends.

There is spam there already, but not as bad as it could be. Like right now i am getting hit by friends requests from a mail order Chinese girl/bride.I wouldn’t mind an sms addon that works with cricket in the usa. twitter and jiaku do not work with cricket. I believe with cricket the phone numbers you text to, have to be 7-10 digits . I think cricket thinks it’s a ringtone thingy and well, they like you to use only their ring tones so they block all short number texts. unlimited sms on my cell and I can’t use it.

Not cool

While sitting around all day watching Joost and downloading podcasts to my psp at the same time while converting backed up stuff to m4v or what ever format my psp can display, using pspvideo9. (bugs me they stopped playing ipod format). And one of the dudes on the show I was watching from the comedy central stand ups or what ever, he said the word “boot”. That triggered a wild thought. How nice it would be to get joost on my psp. I don’t care if it’s a stripped version that only plays mychannels, or a full blown version that forces me to get an eight gig memory card and or buy a umd wit the most of the program on it . I would love to connect to my wifi and just kick back and watch a little joost in a display area that makes joost look good.

Of course I twitched like three times thinking about sending a suggestion to the contacts page but really i am not a single solutions man .

If anyone knows a place where someone has already done this, hit me with a link.. My psp still works fine.

One of the members from the grand theft auto forums has begun creating a game to tide us over till gtaIV comes out.

I think he did a good job this far. but he needs more streets and more people. even if he isn’t ready to chunk down new buildings, just the streets and the people would be pretty nice to see. Maybe more graffiti on some of the buildings that are already existing. More music to rotate through in the cheat code would be nice, more stuff on mars and more in the sewer or another sewer would be cool.slow down the peds and increase their paths.

Possibly the implementation of of greg leedberg’s udlp To Link it up and play a buddy. or a full blown online world kinda like runescape or something. .a nice head to head battle would be fun.

If anyone can help in this message him I am sure he will take all the help offered if you can do the stuff, I am pretty sure it will be free… maybe he can rename the game to gtaforum-users online. or some crap, I would love to see it converted for flash within a browser.

Well, it turns out that you do not need Cedega to play san andreas on Linux.That’s right, all of you who have subscribed have been duped.I have done the install and done the game play on just wine and a cracked .exe file. Google search torrent: gta_sa.exe . Look for the 15mb cracked exe file. Here is the walk through on how to set this up I think I made this easy for you. Duno, sometimes what i understand ain’t quite what you understand. But i added screen shots.

If you have any questions, hit me up right here and I will try my best to help you understand what I meant.

Oh. on that page is a link to the vice city install also, you might want to try that one.. it is waaaaaay easy but a lil buggy, but the bugs are kinda cool :p

Once you guys get the game working from a complete legit install from a legit disk and get the game working. do me and you a favor, send a note to rockstar and tell them you want the games ported for Linux… screw Microsoft.
