Petition supporting American energy independence

I don’t normally post these kinds of links, but this one seems important enough to me. It is a link to a website that is indeed political. For that reason alone, I know a lot of people will think I’m pushing one party over another. That’s not my intention at all. The link to the petition on the front page supports drilling various areas for oil.
That in itself is enough to spark arguments, but again, that isn’t my intention here. I just want to put this link out there for anyone that believes like I do, that we as a nation should do everything possible to become energy independent. For me that includes solar, wind, hydrogen, biomass, electricity, air, water, etc. Anything that we can harness for energy is worth investigating.
I don’t care about the politics. There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides. The bottom line is that we need to make our voices known to our politicians that we expect them to DO something about our current situation. If after reading the link, you agree with the premise, please sign the petition.

C’mon, political intentions or not, don’t you understand yet that more oil is NOT the answer? We need to take this opportunity to make some REAL investments in future “alternative” energy now!
Much of it is already here now, and could be practical if we made a real commitment. Things such as wind, solar, etc can help move in the right direction, until hydrogen becomes a reality. Hydrogen is the long-term answer, but we need to invest now to make it happen.
And for those who think this might be a new idea worth looking at, he is a “righty” pushing the same old right-winged agenda for the same old tired companies that caused most of the current world problems under a different name - BIG OIL !!!
I say NO to AmericanSolutions - sure let’s drill our way out of it - lol.
