“Smart” Architectural Technologies Part 2

  • No Related Post

I felt compelled to split this article into two parts. It was getting too long for a single read and I didn’t want to bore anyone. So without further ado, I give you part two. Heh, a rhyme. :)

I want to mention what I think is the coolest of new technologies. Wireless electricity! Imagine not having those annoying wall plugs in your walls anymore! They’re never where you need them most and there are never enough of them! The technology is mainly aimed at recharging batteries in devices like laptops and cell phones. But soon enough, I’m sure we will we able to power any electrical device.

Architects won’t have to worry about where to place outlets and receptacles. Contractors won’t have to run wire in the wall cavities. I bet every contractor in the world will sing “Hallelujah” to that one! We will all be able to put our electrical devices wherever the heck we want them! We won’t be tied down anymore. Freedom! Freedom! Can you tell I’m excited about this?

One possible downside is concern over human and animal health. Since the technology is based on magnetics, it is possible that there are some problems, but according to this article, the scientists don’t believe so. Some people willingly use magnetics as a form of holistic healing, so how bad can it be? I suppose it depends on the amount of magnetic energy.
