What’s in a Name

I realize the title of this series of articles seems a little odd. So, where did I get the title “Where The Spirit Listeth”? While racking my brain searching for a title, I felt the pressure to come up with something. As it is, I left the web page open all day waiting for inspiration to hit. The only lead I had was in trying to figure out what categories to cover.
Since my faith is the most important thing in my life, I started thinking about the Bible. I wanted to pick something that would have a double meaning. I like plays on words. I started thinking about things Jesus said to his disciples. I wanted the title to have something about the spirit in it because the Spirit is the real focus of the Word of God. The Spirit of God, the spirit of man, the spirit of the Word, God’s care for our spiritual eternity, etc. Then I remembered one of Jesus’ teachings. In John 3:8, Jesus told Nicodemus that the Spirit is like the wind. It blows where it wants and no one knows where it will blow next. I thought that sounded fitting. The things I write will probably be here and there, not one subject all the time.
So there you have it, that’s how I came up with the title. Not very exciting, I know, but I had to come up with something. Hopefully those who choose to read my rantings will get the intentions behind the name.
