Australian Internet Censorship Plan Trips. Gravel Rash Forthcoming.

I’m probably a bit late to the game on this one, but I found a petition that is REALLY worth signing. GetUp is an Australian organisation that has been a huge part of keeping our thoughts in the eyes of the politicians, the public servants, and the bureaucrats. One of their highpoints was in the last few weeks, where convicted Australian Terrorist, David Hicks, released a video, speaking out against the harsh gagging order put against him, and his worries about its possible extension. The release of this video prompted the AFP (Australian Federal Police) to release a statement saying that the order would not be extended. A breath of relief.

Anyway, we’re trying to send a message to Senator Conroy about the fact that this filter is a blatant removal of free speech, will take down speeds by up to 87%, and considering the average speed is a boring 1.5mbps, that’s a pretty big impact.
