When will the high cost of Gas alter your driving habbits?

I have a Hybrid vehicle so the price hike has not affected me as much as my friends. Last time I filled up it was around $3.91 a gallon for 87 octane. Generally that will run me about $50 to $60 to fill a tank from empty to full. When I first got this hybrid car gas was $1.50+ a gallon and I had a hard time breaking $20 to fill it.
I now think about where am I going, and do I need to go there today, or can I merge the trip with another one. How can I setup going to family events to make sure we only use one car rather than two. Both my wife and I are very active in our Church and sometimes (most times) that requires us to take separate vehicles because we have to be there are different times. Lately I have found myself adjusting what I do at church so the times I need to be there fit in with my wifes so we can take one car. Other times I just will go earlier than I need to just so we don’t have to take both cars.
Other trips have been squashed too. If I was really wanting a Soda and found the cubboards dry, I would just hop in the car and go to the local convience store and get a fountain drink. The closest store is about 2 miles away. Now I just suck it up and drink water just to save 4 miles on the tank. Why add $0.40 to the cost of your snack fit if you don’t need to.
How has the gas price hikes affected you?
