Is there any Privacy any more?

Today I am sitting here “trying” to do my homework before finals this week and I hear my family first start talking about Tele-marketing calls and Phone scams, callerID, etc.  This conversation soon morphs into email and the internet.

While they were talking I decided to do a search on my full name “Firstname Middlename Lastname” Didn’t really find anything but then I did a search on “Firstname Middleinital Lastname” and the first of only two links came up with my name, and my wifes maiden name.  Searching further, found it had my wife, me, her parents, all her cousins, her mother and father, etc. (It did say her father was still living, but he has been gone for 10 years.)

How private is your life?  How much information is available freely to anyone who wants to search for your records?  Should we even care that this public information is so easily found on the internet?  What conserns do you have about your privacy?
