Opera Releases 10.10 RC, Almost Ready to Unite
Yesterday, the newest beta release of Opera 10.10 was made available on the Opera website. It is another step on the way to Opera with a bug-free Unite platform.

Opera Unite is a powerful platform that turns your Web browser into a Web Server too. This means you can share content directly with friends without having to upload anything to a Web site. You can stream music, show photo galleries, share files and folders or even host your Web pages. It just takes a few simple clicks to set them up.
Right now there are hundreds of developers building software to extend the capabilities of Unite, which comes fairly capable out-of-the-box.

Do you feel lucky? Well do you, Opera user?
This lucky build was born on Friday 13th! As luck would have it, it became an RC for Opera 10.10. That means that you are lucky enough to get to report any critical bugs, regressions, and so on, before we release it.
This no longer installs in the snapshot/beta path, so watch out for that or you could quickly run out of luck. (The default startup page still says beta, and that is because as far as the rest of the world is concerned, the latest official version of 10.10 is a beta.)

WARNING: This is a Friday 13th RC. It no longer installs in a snapshot/beta folder. It contains the latest changes, but should be stable enough for release. But as an RC, it could be unlucky enough to be pulled if any serious issues are found.
These guys tend to be overcautious to a degree I have never seen elsewhere. When Opera releases an Alpha, you can bet it works like anyone else’s Beta. When they put Beta on a project, you can usually use it everyday with no serious problems, and when something gets called Release Candidate, that usually means that the released version being byte-for-byte the same is a better than even money bet.
