Tips On Installing Windows 7

Much to the astonishment of many, there have been very few articles giving advice on the installation of Windows 7. For each one of us that has been through the process of installing an operating system a hundred times or more, there are ten who have never done it once.

Strangely enough, the nice people at Information Week have put a very nice guide up for doing the deed, in words and pictures.

There are steps for Vista to Windows 7, and also for the trip from Windows XP to any version of Windows 7. In each case, plenty of explanation will get you through with a minimum of fuss.

Remembering the problems with the movement of mail, and the installation of Windows Live Mail, or something else that will pull mail from an Outlook Express or Windows Mail installation, such as Thunderbird, will make everything go well, and remove problems better taken care of before, rather than after the fact.
