Google Releases Themes for Chrome

Many people have been citing the ugly looks of Chrome as a reason to not use the browser for day-to-day tasks. Yesterday, the first 29 themes were released for the version 3 browser (the themes will not work at all with version 2).
The subtitle of this probably should have been “Be Careful What You Wish For“, for as we all know, you just might get it. In that spirit, Google has unleashed some of the oddest, and some are saying, most ugly, themes ever to be seen. Though none of them are able to be called “angry fruit salad” they certainly could be called overly busy, or garish. They are certainly nothing that I would ever want, or use.
At some point, if Google wishes to have the skinning of the browser be successful, it will have to release the reins just a tad, and begin to let the community bring about changes that more will appreciate.
The themes can be viewed/installed here .

We are a nation of morons. There’s simply no other way to say it.

There’s a less intrusive version called Iron. Runs decently on Windows but tends to crash on linux. There’s even a usb stick version.
Oddly enough, it seems to run just fine without additional themes. But you know me - I’m sooooo superficial.

leftystrat, thanks, I tried it early on. I don’t like the entire method that the browser works. I doubt I’ll ever become a fan.
For me, Opera is almost nirvana. If I could get the zoom feature add-on available for Firefox included in Opera, I’d be set.
